It's been so long since I last posted on my blog, and I have missed talking to all of you.  I have been stress for free time. But lately 2 dear friends were able to contact me thanks to this blog  and I missed coming here once in a while and chat a bit.

I played a concert last week for an organization called OCCI'ZEN, whose purpose is to help sufferings children have a better life, they are buildiing schools in Morocco and trying to uplift their spirits and rasing money thru arts notably and their logo is a moving girafe with it's head surrounded by clouds. Sandrine, OCCI'ZEN's president explained to me the meaning of their logo

TO HAVE YOUR HEAD IN THE CLOUDS, BUT STILL GO FORWARD BECAUSE YOUR FEET ARE ON THE GROUNDS.

I am honored by the selection of  the song "I've got news for you..." by "Accoustic Fuel" as inspirational song in celebration of "Black History Month"

the song is from my album "Ghetto Fabulous" released last September in France; the album wich is already playing on local and natioonal radios in the Netherlands is due for release nation wide in that territory on march 13th. In april, I will play 5 concerts in support of the albm

MusicDish, LLC, a music magazine publisher and artist marketing/development firm, announced the addition of Haitian American singer/songwriter Karlex to its MusicDish Network roster. Karlex, who is currently based in the south of France, soulfully fusses the vibes of his native island with funky guitar sounds and heavy bass, in a unique blend called Afro Groove. MusicDish founder Eric de Fontenay and Karlex, who had first met in September 2006, struck the deal in the Press Club of the Palais des Festivals on the closing day of MIDEM 2007 in Cannes, France.

MusicDish will provide full online management support, including brand development and marketing, as well as seeking licensing and business opportunities for his album "Ghetto Fabulous". Released in France in September 2006, "Ghetto Fabulous" will be released in Benelux in February 2007, followed by a six city tour in the Netherlands in April. He is also currently seeking distribution in the North American market.

The album has been making waves from the start, having been selected by "Arte TV" as an October Event and by "Radio Africa No 1" as Album Of The Week leading up to the release. Karlex was invited by Phillipe Lefait on France 2's 'Live Acoustic' to play his song "I've Got News For You...", while the album's first music video "Farewell Angel" has been receiving regular play on the "Europe 2" cable channel.

In his teens, Karlex moved New York City from Haiti, where he played with different bands with influences as diverse as Rock, Pop and World. In the 90's, he returned to Haiti where the ambient mysticism, the people's sufferings, the history (past & present) brought a radical change in his sounds and inspiration. Karlex reminisced, "I was reborn. The calling of the drums in the night filled me with a longing to get back to the true essence of liberty and freedom that my ancestors fought for. And nothing translated that better for me than a certain sound reminiscent of the 60's and 70's fused with actual urban music and Haitian soul."

It's been a very very long time since I made any postings on my blog. I have been so busy with managing the label and my careeer at the same time and replying to all the messages and comments on myspace. In fact I believe myspace has been the main reason my personal blog has suffered. The incredible amount of time it takes if you want to know just a little bit about those who send you a "request to be friends" and listen to their music or poetry when they are musicians or poets and then make a comment or reply to the private messages, it just does not leave you with any additional free time.

So to all my supporters here on the blog I say "I am deeply sorry", I just have to find a way to manage to keep in touch.

I am just back from the MIDEM's fair in Cannes, where I met a lot of old and new friends and working partners, it was a very productive MIDEM and hopefully LIL'PEOPLE RECORDS will be signing distribution deals for the US, UK and Ireland, GERMANY, THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION soon.

 I am still working with my promoter Chris from the MUSIC REPS in the NETHERLANDS on the coming tour for APRIL 07, the dates, towns and venues should be posted soon. The album should be available there in February.

We have 2 other shows coming up in MONTPELLIER on MARCH 24th at the famous "LE JAM" and in PARIS at "LE ZEBRE DE BELLEVILLE" on MARCH 29th.

We will be releasing a new title "LET'S HARMONIZE (A Bom Bom)" by the second week of FEBRUARY on French radios. You can check a remix of the song by DAVID KIA on my page at myspace : www.myspace.com/karlex
